Fat-Burning Zone?

Most cardio equipment at the gym has a program for ‘fat burning’ or ‘cardio’. Have you ever tried it? The ‘Fat-burning’ zone is NOT the best way to burn fat! How come?

The theory is that when your heart-rate is in ‘the zone’ the body burns fat as its fuel. True to a point. But you’d have to work ‘in the zone’ for so long it isn’t funny ! Nor is it efficient at really burning fat. You are better to go as hard out as you can and burn more calories per workout. As a result the amount of actual fat burned is greater.

Imagine this: You walk for 30 minutes ‘in the zone’ and burn 150 calories- of which 50% is fat because you are ‘in the zone’.  That’s 75 calories worth of fat, right? Sounds ok. But what if you were to run for 30 minutes and burn 300 calories – of which 33% is fat? That would be 100 calories worth of fat. It doesn’t take much to figure out that the higher your intensity, the greater your fat burning ability is.

So next time you are at the gym, go hard and don’t even look at ‘fat burning-zone’ on that equipment!

The best way to eliminate fat is through sweating. When we sweat, fats are also burned in the process. Cardio fitness is still an effective way to eliminate those unwanted fats from our body. Going to a fitness gym will guide you to a proper fitness program that will help you how to burn the fats properly and what strategies or programs should I apply to effectively attain the desired shape that you look.

Yes- I agree-cardio fitness is an effective way to burn fat-just make sure you really do work out at a decent rate. I have seen too many people at gyms ‘ambling along’ on cardio machines rather than increasing the intensity.
Sweating is a by-product of the body’s aerobic system. Fit people burn fat faster-simply because their resting metabolic rate is higher.
