			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Note to my clients): In case you haven&#8217;t noticed, I am absolutely in love with kettlebells!</p>
<p>Kettlebells originated in Russia and have only fairly recently made it to the &#8220;West&#8221;. The thing that makes kettlebell workouts different from any other form of resistance training is the ballistic movements, especially in the swing and the snatch. These two movements alone can pack a cardio-punch like you may never have experienced! They also blow-torch unwanted fat!</p>
<p>Training with kettlebells is the  fastest way to burn fat, gain real strength and work on your cardio fitness all at the same time. Now that makes kettlebell workouts incredibly time-efficient. I don&#8217;t know about you, but that is a huge PLUS in my books! And YES they are suitable for young and &#8216;more mature&#8217; alike.</p>
<p>For women, an 8K kettlebell (or 18lbs) is the best to start with. You only need one because you can do so much with it.</p>

<p>Now &#8211; just because Craig is &#8220;Men&#8217;s Health Expert&#8221; doesn&#8217;t mean women can&#8217;t do these exercises! In fact my women clients LOVE them!</p>
<ol>
<li>Plank with your arms on the Ball (30% more effective than plain ol&#8217; planks, according to Men&#8217;s Health magazine).</li>
<li>Ball Rollouts (probably my favorite ball ab exercise).</li>
<li>Hanging Knee Raises (classic exercise that most folks do wrong&#8230;but if done right, will work your abs safely and<br />
effectively).</li>
<li>DB Renegade Row (this is the biggest surprise on the list&#8230;but it works your lower obliques incredibly hard).</li>
<li>Ball Jackknife (always a tough one for beginners to get the hang of&#8230;but when they do, they get a lot of six pack ab benefits).</li>
<li>Ball Jackknife Rotation (a tougher version of the jackknife).</li>
<li>Ball Jackknife-Pushup Combo.</li>
<li>X-Body Mountain Climber (one of my favorites&#8230;so simple yet so effective).</li>
<li>X-Body Mountain Climber with Hands on Ball.</li>
<li>X-Body Mountain Climber with Feet on Ball (an even more effective version of the regular X-Body mountain climber)</li>
</ol>

<strong>STEP-UP and SKIP</strong>

You need:<ul>
<li>a box (shower stool or anything stable that is around 10inches/25cm high.</li>

<p>Here are some you can try.</p>
<p><strong>STEP-UP and SKIP</strong></p>
<p>You need:
<ul>
<li>a box (shower stool or anything stable that is around 10inches/25cm high.</li>
<li>a skipping rope</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Warm up</strong> by walking on the spot for a couple of minutes.</p>
<p><strong>STEP/SKIP SET </strong><br />
<strong>STEP -</strong> step-up leading with your left foot. Both feet on top of the box and step down leading with your left foot. Do 50 step-ups leading with your left, then 50 leading with your right.</p>
<p><strong>SKIP</strong> aim for 50 fast skips (jump with both feet off the ground). You will build this up to 100skips (can be 2 sets of 50)</p>
<p>Aim to do 3 sets.<br />
Keep the intensity up: moderate to high. You should be able to talk in short sentences but not be out of breath.</p>
<p>Of course in the skipping phases, you should not be able to talk- this is full on jump-rope.</p>
<p>If you haven&#8217;t done this before, you will need to build it up slowly &#8211; skip 20, short pause, skip 20.</p>
<p>The key is to get your heart rate up.</p>
